At the beginning of my summer break I challenged myself with these questions: could I get up every day and create a piece of work? Could I dig in and explore one media and understand it? I chose to create pieces of my flower gardens that were 'en plein air' - in the open air. I worked with pastels on sanded paper in the gardens, working with the light and the limited time it allowed before the colors and shadows changed.

Contour

A blind contour drawing is a line drawing that is created without the use of constantly looking at the paper.

Instead, one concentrates intensely on the item that he/she is drawing and tries to draw the many shifts of lines and tangents of lines seen.
